Dear Weary Mom,
I know your days are hard. The day-to-day needs of meals and laundry and places-to-be overwhelm easily. Yet being a mother is so much more than simply meeting physical needs. We have emotional cups to fill, souls to guide, minds to teach, and hands to train.
Fear and doubt whisper to your heart until you are paralyzed with the feelings of inadequacy and failure. I’m there too, weary mom.
Can I invite you to listen to a different whisper with me?
When you find yourself at the grocery store when an unruly child pushes your buttons — and with all eyes watching — your face warms with frustration and you think you just might throw yourself on the floor and have your own tantrum?

When you are feeling that you just don’t have what it takes to be a good mom.

When you cry yourself to sleep because you barked criticism at your kids more than you played with them.
When you just don’t think you can make it through one more day like today.
When your heart is laden with guilt and regret of the words you spoke.
When you feel like the worst mom in the world.
God loves your children more than you do and He is an active part of their day-to-day. Cling to the fact that He has great plans for each of your dear little ones and they cannot be thwarted — even by you. Rejoice in the fact that God has hand-picked YOU to be their mother.
Imperfect, inadequate you.
The glorious news is that our Father God looks at you and me and is pleased. Yes, pleased. Not disappointed, or angry, or wishing He had chosen differently. Happy, joy-filled pleasure, because when He looks at you He sees His Son, Jesus.
So, shout this out with me today:

I’m preaching this to myself today, weary mommas. Because I’m needing an extra dose of truth poured over my weary-momma doubting heart.
Do you have a hard time believing that God is pleased with you? Do you struggle with feeling as if all your mess-ups will “ruin” your kids, and forget that God is in control? Share your weary heart with us in the comments.

Mamas in the trenches of motherhood, slugging it out every day for the hearts of their children…they need hope. So we’ve created a fun way for our writers, and other moms out there called to give hope through their words, to encourage each other to press on and press in to deeper relationship with Jesus.
Each Thursday, one of our writers from Team Hope will write a letter to a weary mom—an encouragement—and post it here on the blog. At the end of the post, we’ll invite you to join us by writing your own “Dear Weary Mom,” post and linking it up. If you choose to participate, please consider the following things:
1. This is a family-friendly site. Please only submit a post that builds up and encourages moms. It can be funny, but it can not be crude or contain profanity. We reserve the right to delete offensive posts, BUT we also plan to pin our favorite to our growing Pinterest board!
2. Please include a link back to this post from yours so we can all encourage each other.
3. Please use the graphic above in your post.
That’s it! We’re excited to see what God does through Dear Weary Mom, and can’t wait to see how He leads YOU to participate.
