Friends, as we begin week seven, I want to just pause for a moment and pray for each mom here first…
Heavenly Father, you have been so faithful in meeting us here each week. We thank you for your presence, your unending Love and for your Son, whom you sent to set us free, to reconcile us to you and walk with us every step of the way. With all the noise, the chaos of our days and the wide range of emotions we mamas feel…God, sometimes (oftentimes) we come to the end of ourselves and don’t know what to do next. We feel desperate, barely hanging on at times. Show us, Lord, in a powerful way what to do next. When we come to the end of ourselves and we need to be filled, to find a way to be filled, show us THE WAY. You created us to worship, to bow down, confess our sins and to rejoice! Increase our faith in you Father and help us to receive you today….to receive the gift that you are and be thankful for all that we have. You are our mighty portion and in you, we have all that we need. Help us to find you, Jesus, right where we are, right now. And I pray for each sweet mom here, that your realness would fill her with an undeniable Hope and she would know without a doubt that she is a daughter of the King, treasured and loved. We love you and praise you, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
This week, Stacey will be sharing her heart about how gratitude leads to worship. When we can see who God is, what He has done for us and be thankful, it’s hard NOT to praise and worship Him. But sometimes in the midst of it all, we need something to remind us to be thankful, to worship. What happens when we bow down to our Creator? How can we cling to Him in prayer with a posture of true humility on a daily basis, even on our hardest days?
But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. -Psalm 59:16
From chapter seven:
Are you trudging along overwhelmed by the daily exhausting, never-ending task of mothering? Do you wonder if you are on the right path and if the way you are taking is in fact getting you anywhere? Have Resentment, Bitterness, and Self-Pity shown up in your home and made themselves house guest? Have you come to the very end of yourself?
and…
Where are you today? Do you need to spend some time today bowed low with the Grace Giver? Do you need to lay down the weariness you have been wearing? He wants to meet you. He may have an appointment with you at the altar or maybe He just wants you to sing a song in the kitchen just for Him. Either way, He wants to whisper into your heart that He loves you and will never let you go. I promise, when you come to the end of yourself and you choose to worship anyway, your heart will sing once more, with hope.

Moms, this week, let’s share with one another in the comments below what we are thankful for. How has God blessed you? How is He showing up in the middle of your days? And if you have a song of worship in your heart that helps you praise Him, will you share it with us?
This song, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) by Chris Tomlin is the song that presently floods my heart and leads me to bow down and worship our King.
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believedMy chains are gone
I’ve been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing graceThe Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life enduresThe earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God who called me here below
Will be forever mine, will be forever mine
You are forever mine

Stacey,
Your message is a breath of fresh Hope to my weary soul. I love that God wraps us with a garment of praise. I forget that all the time and do so often clothe myself, instead, with what feels like a heavy armor of weariness and despair. It weighs me down and keeps my focus on ME, instead of on Jesus. Thank you, Stacey, for your beautiful encouragement and your heart song of praise and worship. You bless my heart over and over again, friend.
I mentioned the song, Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin in this post. It is truly one of my favorite songs and brings me to a humble posture in my heart….a place that feels raw and void of any false pretenses. I love to sing as well. Hearing songs of praise and worship, singing songs to Him…no matter what is going on or who is around, it always feels like it’s just me and my God in that moment. I know He created it that way and is why we were made for worship. Another song I absolutely love to praise God with is “Here I Am To Worship”. I’ve heard it sung by several different artists. Here are the lyrics…
Light of the world, You step down into darkness.
Opened my eyes let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you hope of a life spent with you.
[Chorus]
And here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
King of all days,
Oh so highly exalted Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came to the earth you created.
All for love’s sake became poor.
[Chorus]
Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
No I’ll never know how much it cost to se my sin upon that cross.
[Chorus]
Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
So Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
So thankful for the reminder to sing a song of praise!
Singing with you right now Megan!
One of my favorites too Megan. It was sung at my favorite aunt’s funeral a few years ago and always reminds me of God’s power to move in our lives.
Pingback: “Hope Moms” or “Weary Moms” ?
I am a weary mom, but I am thankful that I can be home with my children during this season of their lives, and that during this season of having little ones my husband has gone back to school full time and we are 1/2 way thru his education…….3 more months until he is home with us again!
Love that Maggie! Blessings!
A song that is a challenge to me is In Christ Alone. I look to others for help or to be filled that only Jesus can do. To have Him be my solid ground, my comforter, my all in all. To let Jesus command my destiny. Today, I am thankful the friends God has brought into my path. We have lived here 4 years and I feel like He finally answered my prayers for me to have friends. Grateful, yes I am!
Mamas–be blessed:)
“In Christ alone, my hope is found…”
Chills. Love that song!
Rejoicing in new friendships for you!
I needed that today my friend. That and a blow pop. I learned a song when I was a teenager on a trip with my church’s Acteens group. We were on a bus (lots of us!) and one of the leaders was teaching us songs to pass the time. One of them was a round called, “Father, I Adore You.” Maybe you guys know it? This song comes to me when I’m afraid, nervous, weary, or really when my soul is in a state of un-rest. It has seen me through so many hard times because it focuses my mind on Him and takes it off my surroundings. Here are the words:
Father I adore You
and I lay my life before You
How I love You
Jesus I adore You
and I lay my life before You
How I love You
Spirit I adore You
and I lay my life before You
How I love You
It’s a simple, non-complicated song, but I love it for that.
Today, I’m grateful for my husband. I’ve been battling a migraine yesterday and today, and he’s stepped up and gotten the boys (and dogs) up, fed them, and kept them entertained so mama could sleep it off a little. He serves me so well. Thank You Lord for the gift of my sweet husband!
Praying friend for you to feel better.
I love a simple song of praise in the midst of a tough day. So much easier when it just doesn’t take much thought!
xo,
stacey
Brooke, I remember the round, “Father I Adore You” from my time with a youth ministry, too. So powerful, so true. I also call to mind the song, “Abba, Father.” It goes:
Refrain
Abba, Abba, Father.
You are the potter; we are the clay,
the work of your hands.
1. Mold us, mold us and fashion us
into the image of Jesus, your Son,
of Jesus, your Son.
2. Father, may we be one in you.
May we be one in you as he is in you,
and you are in him.
3. Glory, glory and praise to you.
Glory and praise to you forever, amen,
forever, amen.
Today I am thankful for my time home with my children. To see them, to truly see them, firsthand. To witness their worries, pain, frustrations. To be there for their joy, their discovery, their radiance. God bless all the mommas!
Angie I love that image of Him molding us.
Thank you for sharing!
I am a weary mom of a teenager…but I am thankful for the Lord’s Strength and Guidance and for my husband’s support. I am also thankful that my teen is a Christian and wants to live for Jesus and even though we have rough times she knows she can turn to Jesus and us.
So many songs come to mind, but when tired probably the simple one is the best… Jesus Loves Me!
“for the Bible tells me so!”
More than just a children’s song, right?
Amen.
I’ve been a weary mom for way too long and am only now, after 5 years, learning to be thankful. The song that’s been my go-to as of late has been “Already All I Need” by Christy Nockels. That first verse puts it all into perspective for me when I’m feeling worn and forgotten. It reminds me just how much I am loved and how He is everything I need.
Asking where you are Lord, wondering where you’ve been,
Is like standing in a hurricane, trying to find the wind.
And hoping for your mercies, to meet me where I am,
Is forgetting that your thoughts for me outnumber the sand.
Christie that is one of my absolute favorite songs and albums. I love that Christie wrote it in the midst of motherhood, too!
Thanks for reminding me to listen to it!
Stacey, I loved hearing your sweet voice.
a song that is really ministering to me right now is by Meredith Andrews, Not For a Moment (after all.)
Thank you Candace! I so appreciate your encouragement! And I adore Meredith Andrews! I’m not familiar with this song, but I’m going to go find it!
Please help because the background music is playing so loud I can not hear the speaking. Is there another way I can look at this? LMK Juli
Can’t hear Stacey talk at the supposedly background music is TOO HIGH. Can this be fixed so I can watch this week lession?
LMK. Blessings, Juli
Hi friend – there is only music at the beginning, when I start talking there is not music. Not sure where the music would be coming from.
So sorry.
Wow! Megan thank you for that beautiful prayer. Just knowing that I am not alone fills me with such HOPE. It removes my self pity and reminds me that this is only for a season. Thank you Brooke and Stacy again for this book that speaks right to my soul and lifts me up. We so often forget to worship and yet it is so simple and powerful. I do believe there will be much more music (not just kids music) on in the house this week. The song that has been with me this month is “In Christ Alone”.
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
I am so very blessed in my life (not something I felt or would have said at the beginning of this study/year ). Today I am feeling so thankful that I am able to be at home with my children. It was a big decision for us but such a huge blessing.
Meaghan – I heard this played yesterday on the violin and it is stunning!
Blessings to you sweet friend!
So thankful today because my sweet 7 year old son who has major breathing issues associated with his syndrome DID NOT HAVE TO USE STEROIDS for the first time ever in his life to get through a cold. Truly this is a miracle for him. The steroids wreak havoc on his poor body and mind every 6 weeks or so that he has to take them for severe croup/stridor. His breathing becomes very labored and his already very narrow upper and lower airway swells whenever he’s sick.
But, PRAISE GOD!!! We made it through the last 3 days without medication and his breathing didn’t get too bad. Thank you Jesus, for this amazing gift!
Yeah Megan! Such a blessing.
Pingback: Hope For the Weary Mom » Chapter Seven: When You Come to the End of Yourself
As I have been on this journey with you all i am finding myself grateful for something strange….ASPERGERS. Weird right, well this disease that is challenging us at every blink of an eye, yet it is teaching us grace. Grace like neither my husband or I have needed to exemplify before ( or at least not that we are aware of). Grace is becoming a theme in our home as we havecome very aware our home was lacking! Nothing like a monkey wrench from the Lord to say…pay attention!
The song that echbos through my head many days now is Grace that is greater than all our sins.
God’s grace to us is such an eye opener!
“Grace is becoming a theme in our home.” — Oh we all need that theme, and I love that hymn!

Ms. Stacey~
You have a beautiful voice. Thanks for blessing me with the chorus. I too LOVE that song.
