Can you think of a better way to start 2013 than with hope? We sure can’t! Today we have big news! Starting January 7, 2013 Hope for the Weary Mom will be starting a book club using the newly expanded “Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess.” We are calling it “Hope for the New Year.” It is going to be an amazing time to come together as moms to focus on the hope we have in Christ. You will want to come and bring your friends.
Brooke and I wanted to find a very special person to serve as our hostess for the book club. We found that and more in Megan from House of the Rising Sons. Megan hosted a group during our week long series called “7 More Days of Hope” last June and we were blown away by her passion for this project. She has also been serving for the past few months on our book launch team. Megan is the mother of four awesome boys. But we are going to let her tell you all about that!
We love that having Megan host the book club will allow Brooke and I to focus on encouraging your hearts. Will you please welcome Megan and she will fill you in on all the details!

Thank you for such a warm welcome Stacey and Brooke. Hi there all you amazing moms! I’m Megan, but first, let me tell you a story because it truly is an amazing one that God has been a part of from day one.
Once upon a time there were two mamas who were friends. Both of them loved Jesus. And each one had big dreams, stories to tell and hearts filled with a deep desire placed there by God to encourage other moms like themselves. Real moms with real struggles. Moms who love their families fiercely. And yes, moms who are weary.
What started out as a series of seven shared blog posts between two friends, turned into a little ebook called Hope for the Weary Mom. Women everywhere were being validated in their hurts, their struggles and in the weariness that often defines those places in our hearts that are so hard to describe.
And then, God did it again. He opened the door for Brooke and Stacey to write more words, add new chapters and fill the pages with even more hope. And this is the very short story of how the new Hope for the Weary Mom, expanded edition, came to be.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to be here and how much I am looking forward to what God has in store for all of us during our Hope for the New Year Book Club. I have no doubt it’s going to be incredible. I’m a regular mom, just like you. My husband and I do have four young boys who rock our world in every single way, on each and every day. I am weary on all fronts! Before having our sweet sons, I thought I knew weary. I realize now, I didn’t…not in the way I do now. I’m sure you feel the same.
I often feel like I don’t know what I’m doing, that I’m completely missing the mark. And in my own mind, I’ve told myself all kinds of lies and believed some pretty ugly ones the enemy has thrown my way. Truth is, in God’s perfect plan, He didn’t give us the gift of motherhood without also giving us the most precious gift of all….Himself. Everything we need is all wrapped up in Him, our Hope.

Looking forward to connecting with others. Will the book be out on Nook as well?
Not just yet for Nook. But you can download a free Kindle Reader App for your Nook and use the Kindle version. Or you can get the paper back book!
I am really excited about this! The last study I participated in was very helpful. A couple of thoughts though — will this be available as a nook book? Will we get the daily (or tri-weekly) emails with topic/thoughts/links/etc? I find that to be very helpful! I only get on the computer at work, and the email sitting in my inbox really helps remind me of where & when & what we’re talking about!! Also, along with the video message, will there be a written message or transcript? Thank you so much for providing this study with/for us!!
Amy, This weary mama is really looking forward to this study as well. I am so thankful we’ll all be in this together! You brought up some great questions. First, yes, we’ll be sending out one email a week with all the Hope goodness for each week. With each video we will have a written message that ties in. The videos won’t be transcribed, but they will be there to stay so you can watch them at any time. And, the Nook is not available yet, however you can download a free Kindle reader app for your Nook to be able to read the Kindle version of the book. See you back here on Jan. 7. We cannot wait to get started! Blessings to you!

I am so excited about this! I can’t wait!!
Jess, I can’t wait either. I’m really looking forward to connecting with all of you amazing moms!
I am so looking forward to this study! I have been bypassing lots of bible study options for the new year since I have been awaiting this one. WEARY is certainly a word that describes this momma of three little boys….my prayer is most often, “help me Jesus”… I need wisdom and strength, because I so often just don’t know how I’m going to make it. It is so encouraging to know I am not alone….and I will make it…
Thanks to all of you who put this book together, what a blessing… I can’t wait to get into it!
Lisa,
I, too, am an all boy momma. Mine are 2, 4, 6 and 8. They are the joy of my life, but also the most exhausting part of my life. I completely relate with you about not feeling like you’re going to make it…even to the next minute. But, we do, thanks to Jesus. I’m so glad you’ll be joining us here. Brooke and Stacey’s book made such an impact on me as well and I can’t wait to go deeper in to it with all of you. See you here on Monday!
I purchased the book sometime last year and when I read it, it hit right a home-run to my heart. I can’t wait to take part in an in-depth study of the book along side some great women. Thanks for offering it when we all so desperately need it! Blessings to each of you!!
Pingback: On Taking Down Christmas and Starting the New Year with Hope.
I am SO excited about this. I just started reading this book AGAIN over Christmas break. Christmas was not at all what I’d hoped it would be for our family and I was really disappointed and discouraged. God brought this book to mind – I started reading – and immediately found that sense of relief and encouragement I so needed. This is really exciting!

Hi Megan,
I wanted to get a copy of your book on my kindle but sadly, its not available in my location. Furthermore, my credit card won’t accept it either. For some odd reasons.
Well, hopefully some day I’ll be able to get it. Thanks for sharing! *hugs*
Have a blessed day!
